Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro version 2: Ready for the iPad Pro M4
Apple has announced new tablet versions of its movie and music pro apps. There will soon be a multicam mode for FCP and more use of AI in Logic.

Apple also announced new professional software for the tablet at its iPad keynote on Tuesday. Logic Pro 2 for iPad will be released next week (May 13), followed by Final Cut Pro 2 for iPad "later this spring". Finally, Apple has also announced an entirely new app called Final Cut Camera for iPhone and iPad and will soon be upgrading Final Cut Pro for Mac to version 10.8.
Logic Pro 2 for iPad with AI features
Logic Pro 2 for iPad is getting a range of new features based on artificial intelligence. You can now be accompanied not only by a virtual drummer, but also by bass and keyboard, as well as three different pianos and a chord track. Thanks to AI, component separation is also possible. This automatically divides songs into drums, bass, vocals and other instruments for remixes, for example.
ChromaGlow is a new effects package. This is intended to recreate "sounds from the world's most sought-after studio hardware", particularly from the analog sector. Logic Pro 2 for iPad costs 49 euros per year or 4.99 euros per month. There will also be new features in Logic Pro for Mac 11, which will also be released next week and will cost 229.99 euros when sold individually.
Final Cut Pro 2: Multicam with the iPad
In the future, Final Cut Pro 2 will allow you to control several cameras – although these must be other iPads or iPhones. "Live Multicam" connects wirelessly via a new app called Final Cut Camera, which is specifically designed for video recording and is also intended to work standalone. Up to four devices can be used, and there is a control room view in Final Cut Pro 2 on the iPad, also with multiple windows. "With any live camera feed, you can adjust settings directly in Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 to easily set exposure, focus, zoom and more for the perfect shot," says Apple. Editable preview clips are immediately passed to Final Cut Pro for iPad and replaced with full-resolution files in the background. The material can then be cut and processed immediately.
Direct support for projects on external media connected to the tablet via USB-C is very useful: This means you no longer have to import them to the iPad and use up storage space there. Other new features include a dozen new color correction presets and new titles. Apple also provides new soundtracks and dynamic backgrounds. Final Cut Pro 10.8 for Mac includes new AI features such as "Enhance Light and Color", which automatically adjusts contrast, brightness and color balance. Slow-motion recordings can be generated in higher quality. Workflows should become clearer thanks to the manual naming of color corrections and video effects. The timeline search also shows more information. Final Cut Pro 2 on the iPad costs 49 euros per year or 4.99 euros per month. Final Cut Pro for the Mac is available for 349.99 euros.
