After care and TÜV: "Voize" also wants to make documentation easier in hospitals
The start-up Voize wants to use its app to process language, structure data and make documentation easier. It is even supposed to recognize dialects.

It is not known whether Health Minister Karl Lauterbach is testing Voize on Kölsch.

The start-up "Voize" has developed an artificial intelligence for speech recognition and documentation that structures the input and automatically creates the appropriate documentation entries. The services are increasingly being used by care staff as well as TÜV test engineers. Care staff can complete their documentation via voice input using an app. The AI processes voice input locally on the smartphone, as Voize CEO Fabio Schmidberger explains to heise online.
Before the data is passed on for AI training, it is anonymized on the smartphone. According to Voize, the data is then trained on its own servers in compliance with data protection regulations and the updated AI models are distributed back to the devices. According to Voize, over 600 care facilities are already using the app, which is said to reduce the documentation workload of each care worker by an average of 39 minutes per shift. In addition to reducing the workload, nursing staff also have more time for direct patient care. The system also recognizes dialects and accents.
He emphasizes that documentation is important in the care sector, as many residents need to be mobilized regularly, otherwise they may become sore. If necessary, the app also warns of abnormal data, for example if blood pressure is too high. "The AI processes the data locally on the care staff's devices and the entries are then transmitted to cooperating care documentation systems," Schmidberger explains to heise online. He founded Voize 2020 with his twin brother Marcel, among others. "Documentation in care is very time-consuming. Marcel and I have known this since our grandfather moved into a care home," they continue. As soon as there are specifications for the interfaces in the care sector, they want to make them available to other customers.
Expansion into the hospital market planned
The next step for the company is to expand into the hospital market. With this very early financing round, the company plans to further develop its AI and set a standard for digital documentation with its app. The aim is for around 2,500 care facilities to be able to use the app by the end of 2025. In collaboration with Recare, Voize's technology is also to be used in hospitals for discharge management. A seed financing round of nine million US dollars has just been completed to help with this.
