AirPods and Pencils as a bonus: Apple launches student promotion
Apple has relaunched its special education discount for students. Until October 21, some accessories are available for free with selected products.

Apple has launched its annual discount campaign for students. Until October 21, 2024, teachers, staff, students and their parents will receive certain accessories for selected Macs and iPads free of charge. The special promotion complements Apple's year-round education pricing, which applies to a much wider range of products. Apple is also offering a 20 percent discount on AppleCare+ for Macs and iPads, and is giving its Apple TV+ streaming service free with the Apple Music subscription for students.
Anyone who buys an iPad Pro or iPad Air as part of the discount campaign will receive an Apple Pencil Pro or an Apple Pencil with USB-C connection free of charge. The promotion does not apply to the smaller iPad and iPad mini – however, these tablet variants are available at a lower educational price compared to the Apple Store on presentation of appropriate proof.
Who is eligible to purchase
AirPods are included with certain Mac purchases. For example, buyers of a Mac mini receive the second-generation AirPods free of charge. Buy a MacBook Air with an M2 or M3 processor, a 14- or 16-inch MacBook Pro or an iMac with an M3 processor and get the third generation AirPods for free.
The offers are only available to qualified buyers. This includes all employees of a public or private educational institution in Germany and students studying at a public or private university in Germany. Parents who are purchasing for their child who is studying at a public or private university in Germany are also eligible.
If you are interested, it is also worth taking a look at the heise price comparison. Sometimes resellers have offers that undercut Apple's prices despite the discount granted.
