Despite successor: "Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020" gets updates until 2028
A new flight simulator is in the starting blocks. But "Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020" is also set to receive new content for years to come.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is to be supplied with new content until 2028. This was announced by the developers at a community event in Las Vegas. Microsoft announced that the updates will include new aircraft and improved representations of the game world and some cities.
This is not a matter of course, especially as a successor, Flight Simulator 2024, is already on the runway. The developers at Asobo Studios promise that updates for the flight simulator released in 2020 will still be released almost every month.

Microsoft also revealed some success figures for the flight simulator: 15 million people have played "Microsoft Flight Simulator". This makes the title, which was released in 2020, the most successful offshoot of Microsoft's flight simulator series. In total, the 15 million players have taken off in a digital aircraft over a billion times.
"Flight Simulator 2024" in the works
The successor will be released on November 19. Microsoft is trying to incorporate more typical video game elements into "Flight Simulator 2024". For example, there will be missions and tasks with which players can replay various aviation career paths. While in the current "Flight Simulator" you mainly soar through the skies for the pleasure of flying, in "Flight Simulator 2024" you can fly an air rescue helicopter or transport goods, for example.

In a trailer, Microsoft also shows the use of aircraft in watering fields, flying around advertising banners and in rescue missions on the high seas. In addition, as a charter service, you can recommend yourself as a private pilot for VIPs with a pink suit and sunglasses. Civil aviation is also prominently displayed in the Airbus A330.

The new version of the flight simulator also appears to depict the different seasons. According to Microsoft, "Flight Simulator 2024" will offer the largest selection of aircraft and the most comprehensive depiction of airports to date.
