"Flight Simulator 2024" to be released in November with civil aviation
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will be released on November 19. New features include aviation career paths, including freight transportation & charter services

Microsoft's "Flight Simulator 2024" will be released on November 19. Microsoft has announced the release date together with the release of a new trailer. The new flight simulator will be available for Xbox Series X/S and PC. In addition, Game Pass subscribers will be able to fly right from launch at no extra cost.

In the new trailer, Microsoft underlines the focus on the simulation of aviation careers that was already shown in the first trailer. While in the current "Flight Simulator" you fly around mainly for the fun of it, in "Flight Simulator 2024" you can choose specific tasks. For example, you can fly an air rescue helicopter or transport goods.
In the new trailer, Microsoft also shows aircraft being used to irrigate fields, fly around advertising banners and perform rescue missions on the high seas. In addition, as a charter service, you can recommend yourself as a private pilot for VIPs with a pink suit and sunglasses. Civil aviation is also prominently displayed in the Airbus A330.
Photo mode for deer
The level of detail in the new flight simulator even goes so far that a photo mode is not only worthwhile at lofty heights, but also on the ground: the trailer shows, for example, how a deer is photographed in the forest. The new version of the flight simulator also appears to depict the different seasons. According to Microsoft, "Flight Simulator 2024" will offer the largest selection of aircraft and the most comprehensive depiction of airports to date.

Flight Simulator 2024 is a standalone game, so it does not replace Flight Simulator, which was released in 2020. The title is once again being developed by French company Asobo Studios, which is mapping the detailed game world - i.e. the entire globe - using data from Microsoft's Bing Maps.
