Microsoft: PC Manager optimization software will be part of Windows 11
Microsoft's PC Manager optimization software has been quiet for some time. Now it is part of Windows 11.

The PC optimization software Microsoft PC Manager will be part of Windows 11 and the manufacturer has already included it in the Insider Preview in the Windows 11 beta channel.

In the announcement of the beta preview of Windows 11 on build 22635.3646, Microsoft doesn't say much about it. "New! This update adds PC Manager to devices in China" - in German: "Neu! This update adds PC Manager to devices in China". The PC optimizer Microsoft PC Manager has been very quiet recently.
PC optimization software as a Windows component
Apparently, however, Microsoft has bigger plans for the computer optimizer. The addition to Windows proves that the company wants to further develop and use the software. The Microsoft PC Manager website only shows "Coming Soon" instead of offering the download with the buttons. However, this may also be due to the lack of translations. So far, the software supports English and some Chinese dialects.
Anyone who wants to download and install Microsoft PC Manager outside of China and the USA will encounter major hurdles. In the Microsoft App Store, the company displays a download link that transfers a file called Microsoft PC Manager Installer.exe to the computer. However, when executed, this only opens the app to the Microsoft Store and redirects to the PC Manager page. As a rule, it ends there again; the page does not offer a download for German Windows versions. However, if the software is already installed, it can be opened and updated if necessary.

A new installation is currently not possible. A direct search for "Microsoft PC Manager" does not even show the app entry. According to current research, Microsoft itself is apparently unable to obtain an official installation file on German Windows systems.
Microsoft PC Manager: Optimization and protection software
In addition to clearing out temporary files, which goes a little further than the clean-up function for the temporary folder that is automatically started by Windows 11 anyway, PC Manager also offers tools for detecting particularly large files, downloaded files or duplicates. The deep scan helps to generate automatic suggestions. Some protection functions integrated in Windows are prepared on a separate subpage for direct access.

Microsoft's developers released the PC Manager for the first time in October 2022. It offers decluttering functions that Windows users have often retrofitted with tuning software such as CCleaner and similar. However, such functions can also damage the functionality of programs and services, which is why software approved by Microsoft seems to offer the added value of working smoothly and actually being free. Microsoft is also one of the most trustworthy providers for many.
