"Star Trek": New trailers for "Section 31" and "Strange New Worlds"
At Comic Con, Paramount showed the first trailers for the film "Section 31" and the third season of "Strange New Worlds".

Paramount has announced news about its "Star Trek" franchise at the San Diego Comic Con. Among other things, the company showed a first trailer for "Section 31", a film announced last year starring Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh.

The first teaser trailer shows Yeoh and her colleagues in Section 31, a kind of special operations group. The action-heavy video has met with little approval in the community- some criticize that what is shown is hardly identifiable as "Star Trek". Yeoh plays Empress Philippa Georgiou, whom she already portrayed in the series "Discovery". The film is to be shown exclusively on the streaming service Paramount+ next year.
Season 3 of "Strange New Worlds"
Fans will apparently get more traditional "Star Trek" fare with the third season of the series "Discovery", for which a first trailer was also shown at the San Diego Comic Con. It shows a first excerpt from the series, in which the Enterprise crew around Christopher Pike are transformed into Vulcans.

The third season of "Strange New Worlds" is also due to be released next year on Paramount+, but there is currently no exact release date.
"The Office" as a "Star Trek" format
Paramount also announced a completely new series at Comic Con, which currently remains nameless. It will be developed by Tawny Newsome, the voice actress of Mariner in "Star Trek: Lower Decks", Paramount announced. Justin Simien ("Dear White People") is also working on the new format. The creators announced the new series as a comedy format with actors.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the tone will be based on legendary comedy series such as "The Office" and "Parks and Recreation" - "Stromberg" in the "Star Trek" universe. It is not yet known when the series will be released.
