Stralsund District Court: Man must pay a total of 12,500 euros for "dickpics"

A 23-year-old man has been sentenced by Stralsund District Court to pay 4000 euros in compensation to a woman after he sent her pornographic text messages, photos of his penis, a so-called "dickpic", and a masturbation video. This was announced by the court in a press release.
The plaintiff is a woman known for her television appearances and social media. According to the court, the defendant had sent her several explicit text messages in spring 2023. This was followed a few months later by penis photos and finally a masturbation video.
More than 12,000 euros fine
In addition to the monetary compensation to the victim, the convicted man must also pay further costs. In October, a penalty order was issued against him in the amount of 2400 euros. He was also banned from such behavior on pain of administrative penalties. He also has to pay the plaintiff's court costs and legal fees. In total, the financial consequences for the man amount to over 12,500 euros. The judgment is not yet legally binding, as the court announced.
Time and again, women receive unsolicited dickpics or similar. This is why the EU announced in February that it wanted to protect women from such content with a new directive. Among other things, member states will be obliged to criminalize the unsolicited sharing of intimate images. In addition, users are to be trained to better recognize and prevent cyber violence.
