#TGIQF - The quiz about The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Saturday is the day again: it's Towel Day. We are commemorating Douglas Adams, creator of the hilarious Hitchhiker's Guide series. We celebrate with a quiz.
Don't forget your towel on Saturday! Towel Day is not a new gimmick of the terrycloth industry, but is dedicated to the memory of Douglas Adams, creator of the nerdy Per Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series. In the adventures of Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect, a towel has invaluable properties when traveling.
Among other things, it protects you from Traal's large, voracious chattering beetle: a "maddeningly stupid creature, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you - as stupid as a brush, but very, very voracious", according to the Hitchhiker's Guide series. As soon as you hold the towel in front of your face, the chattering beetle no longer attacks. Very practical!
Towel Day always takes place on May 25 of each year - it was established shortly after Douglas Adams' death on May 11, 2001 to commemorate the author of the witty novel series and many other works. What was "The Meaning of Liff", for example? That's what we want you to find out in our 2024 Hitchhiker's Guide to the Rest of the World quiz. The 24 is also just a 42 in reverse!
A few selected questions are taken from the older quizzes on this wonderful perennial topic. Don't worry: you won't have to endure Vogon poetry this time either. The heiseshow is once again worthwhile for further preparation. Anna Kalinowsky posed three nerdy questions about Douglas Adams and the Hitchhiker's Universe in advance- Volker Zota and Malte Kirchner had to think hard.
