Intel: Frühstart des 1-GHz-Celeron und weitere Preissenkungen
Intel fährt zurzeit einen verwirrenden Kurs bei neuen Produkten: Der Media-Markt bietet ein System mit 1-GHz-Celeron an, den Intel offiziell noch gar nicht liefert.

Alle Messungen durchgeführt mit 256 MByte Hauptspeicher, Grafikkarte mit Nvidia-GeForce-2-Chip und 32 MByte SGRAM, Treiber Detonator 12.41, Festplatte IBM-DTLA307030, Onboard-Sound. Neben denen für Pentium-4-Prozessoren [13] hat Intel auch die Großkunden-Preise (OEM-Preise bei gleichzeitiger Abnahme von mindestens 1000 Stück) für Desktop-Celerons, Pentium-III- und Xeon-CPUs teilweise kräftig zusammengestrichen.
