"GTA 6" will not be released until fall 2025
Take-Two specifies the release date for "GTA 6": The action game will be released in fall 2025 – for consoles. A PC version has still not been announced.

"GTA 6" is set to be launched in fall 2025. This was announced by publisher Take-Two when it announced its financial results. The US company had previously given a rough release date of 2025. Fans had therefore hoped for a release in spring 2025.
Instead, 'GTA 6', like its predecessor, will be released in the run-up to the lucrative Christmas period. The planned release is still a year and a half away – a period in which a lot can happen. It therefore remains to be seen whether developer Rockstar Games will be able to meet the planned release date. During the development of "Red Dead Redemption 2", employees regularly had to "crunch" in the months before release, i.e. work massive overtime to finish on the planned date. Some Rockstar employees are said to have worked 100 hours a week. The studio wants to avoid such situations with "GTA 6".

Important date for the entire industry
Publisher Take-Two and the numerous fans of the action series are not the only ones eagerly awaiting the release of "GTA 6". The action game is seen as a great hope for the entire industry, which has been under great financial pressure for months. Numerous publishers, including Take-Two, have cut jobs or closed studios completely. GTA 6 is expected to give the industry a new boost, for example by boosting sales of games consoles.
"GTA 5" is the most successful entertainment product of all time. When announcing its financial results, Take-Two announced that the game had sold over 200 million copies. In the eternal game rankings, this is enough for second place behind "Minecraft".
The release period for "GTA 6" is for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. A PC version has not yet been announced. "GTA 4" was released on PC around 8 months after the console version, while "GTA 5" took around six months. For "Red Dead Redemption 2", the latest game from Rockstar, the studio took a year. PC gamers will therefore probably not be able to return to Vice City until 2026.
