After ban by interior minister: "Compact" magazine no longer online
Compact-Magazin GmbH" is banned with immediate effect. Hosters and platform operators must take its online content offline on the basis of association law.

Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser (SPD) has banned Compact-Magazin GmbH. The printed magazine with a circulation of around 40,000 issues and the online publications may no longer be published, and the Ministry of the Interior has also put a stop to the magazine's activities on social networks. The website compact-online.de is no longer accessible as of this Tuesday morning, but the situation is different with the YouTube channel "CompactTV", and the magazine's X account is also still online.
Faeser described the magazine as a "central mouthpiece of the right-wing extremist scene. This magazine incites hatred against Jews, against people with a history of migration and against our parliamentary democracy in an unspeakable way". According to the Ministry of the Interior, companies could also be banned under certain conditions by banning associations. Compact Magazin GmbH and the sub-organization Conspect Film GmbH were directed against the constitutional order within the meaning of Article 9 of the Basic Law and Section 3 of the Associations Act.
All user accounts banned
Based on this law and the order published in the Federal Gazette, the BMI called on hosters and platform operators to take websites offline and block accounts. "All user accounts of the association in all social networks are prohibited," a spokesperson for the BMI explained to heise online. Whether the ban issued by the BMI is implemented is being monitored in-house. If necessary, the operators will be reminded and, if necessary, fined.
In addition to the websites compact-online.de and conspect-film.com and the accounts on Telegram, X, TikTok, Gettr, Facebook, VK and Whatsapp, YouTube posts by the user @JürgenElsässer7613 are now also banned, according to the Federal Gazette. Elsässer founded Compact magazine.
This Tuesday morning, the police searched properties belonging to the organization in Brandenburg, Hesse, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt, as well as the homes of the leading players, the management and key shareholders. Assets and other evidence were to be seized and confiscated. Violations of the ban are criminal offences, and this also applies to substitute organizations. The organization's trademarks may not be used, and this also applies to the "Blue Wave", a campaign by the magazine to support the AfD.
