Asus NUC 14 Pro AI: Mini PC with Lunar Lake and Copilot button
Microsoft requires a dedicated Copilot button for Copilot+ PCs. Asus also includes one on a mini PC, the NUC 14 Pro AI.

Asus announces the NUC 14 Pro AI aka Lunar Canyon. The name refers to the processors used from the Lunar Lake mobile series; the top CPU model Core UItra 9 288V is used in the most expensive configuration.
Unlike other NUC computers, the memory can no longer be expanded via SO-DIMMs because Intel integrates the LPDDR5X-8533 RAM directly on the processor carrier. The amount of memory is therefore linked to the CPU selection. There is a choice of 16 and 32 GB, although Asus has not yet provided an exact list of all available configurations.
Asus relies on a flat housing for the NUC 14 Pro AI, which does not fit 2.5-inch data carriers. A single M.2 SSD can be up to 80 mm long (M.2 2280).
Copilot+ PC with AI button on the housing
The manufacturer markets the NUC as a Copilot+ PC. However, Microsoft only allows this with a dedicated Copilot button –, which is actually a certification primarily for notebooks. Asus has installed a Copilot button directly on the PC case.
Its usefulness is probably debatable. Especially because the AI functions, such as a local image generator, will only be activated by a Windows update from November.
On the connection side there are:
- Two Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) ports
- Two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports (10 Gbit/s, Type A)
- Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbit/s, formerly known as USB 3.0, type A)
- 2.5 Gbit/s Ethernet
- HDMI (version not specified)
- Headset jack
Independent display ports are missing; however, image output via Displayport should work via Thunderbolt 4 There is a fingerprint sensor on the top that works with Windows Hello.
Asus has not yet commented on the delivery date and prices. Intel will allow sales of devices with Lunar Lake processors from September 24. The NUC 14 Pro AI should be released shortly after the launch.
