Ecoflow Power Hat: Hat with solar cells charges cell phone
The Chinese manufacturer EcoFlow has presented a solar hat that can charge devices via USB. A cell phone should be fully charged in three to four hours.

EcoFlow has presented a hat with solar cells that can charge cell phones, headphones and other gadgets via two USB ports and also offers protection from the sun. The EcoFlow Power Hat is not currently available in Germany. In the USA, the charging hat costs 80 US dollars.
The Chinese manufacturer promises that the hat can fully charge a cell phone with a 4000 mAh battery in three to four hours under ideal conditions. To do this, the cell phone is plugged in via USB-C or USB-A, whereupon it is charged with up to 12 watts of power. The charging sockets are located in a small box on the underside of the umbrella.
Solar hat weighs 370 grams
According to EcoFlow, the solar hat weighs 370 grams, which the manufacturer classifies as "ultra-lightweight". This makes the Power Hat around 100 grams heavier than conventional sun hats of a comparable size. EcoFlow also states that the solar hat is protected against splash water and dust in accordance with IP65.
For transportation, the hat can be folded up and stored in the carrying bag supplied. You have to provide the charging cable for your cell phone yourself. EcoFlow offers the hat in two different sizes, which do not differ in price in the US.
According to EcoFlow, the solar cells are distributed across the hat in such a way that there are no blind spots and you can get sun from all angles. According to EcoFlow, the built-in solar cells have an efficiency of 23 to 24 percent.
EcoFlow is a Chinese manufacturer that specializes in solar technology and air conditioning systems, among other things. EcoFlow products such as balcony power plants, generators and solar panels are usually also sold in Germany. However, it is not yet known if and when the solar hat will also be available in Germany.
