Electric car Smart #1: Getting started will be cheaper than before
With "Pure" and "Pure+", Smart is introducing two equipment lines for the #1 that make the ID.3 competitor from China somewhat more affordable.
Smart is extending the range of the #1 downwards with two versions "Pure" and "Pure+". The range of equipment has been slightly reduced, including the elimination of the non-opening glass roof that comes as standard in the other versions.
The new "Pure" base model adopts the battery-electric equipment of the "Pro" line, which will continue to be offered. The electric motor in the rear has an output of 200 kW. The battery with LFP cells has a net energy content of 47 kWh. Charging is possible with 7.4 kW single-phase alternating current and a maximum of 130 kW direct current. Smart charges 34,990 euros for the #1 "Pure". The #1 "Pure+" is significantly more expensive, costing at least 39,990 euros. In return, Smart installs a 62 kWh battery (also net) with NMC cells. The charging capacity is up to 22 kW of alternating current and 150 kW at the DC column.
Will the #3 Pure follow?
The two new equipment lines can be ordered from July 2 . Like other manufacturers, Smart is also responding to the currently restrained interest of customers with lower prices. With "Pure" and "Pure+", the #1 costs exactly 2500 euros less than the previous "Pro" and "Pro+" base models. This has not yet been communicated, but a downward extension of the slightly larger #3 model is also conceivable. If it remains at a reduction of 2500 euros, a #3 "Pure" would be available from 36,000 euros with the 49 kWh battery, and from 41,000 euros in conjunction with the large storage unit.
