Glowing golden fields, abstract water reflections and flower mandalas: in this week's pictures, our gallery photographers capture unique situations that are reminiscent of transience, warm sunshine and rainy days.

tulipps

(Image: baumfrosch)

"Early in the morning, end of April. The tulips are backlit. It is fresh, there is dew on the lawn and the rising sun shimmers in many droplets. I can certainly play with them nicely," thought baumfrosch. With a gray filter, ISO 100 and an exposure time of 1/8 second, he took the picture of the tulips. They seem to be swaying in the wind. The title comes from the song "tiptoe thru the tulipps" - partly because the situation was so cheerful, but also because baumfrosch was actually standing in the tulip bed.

sleeping in the ground

(Image: metapix)

Sleeping in the ground shows a sculpture of a reclining face that seems to be half-sinking into the earth, or perhaps sleeping. It seems almost peaceful. The tufts of grass growing in the foreground form a natural contrast to the smooth surface of the artwork. The picture by metapix is reminiscent of the interplay between man and nature, but also of transience.

Fields of Gold

(Image: analoochjehtooch)

Analoochjehtooch (alias Jörg Franzen) was actually photographing stonechats in a rape field on a glorious summer evening. However, the cornfield, which seemed to glow ever more golden as the sun set, stood out more, which is why he took this snapshot with his telephoto lens - Fields of Gold. The image was developed with Capture One and post-processed with Color Efex from the Nik Collection.

Mandala

(Image: Anke Brehm)

This shot shows a symmetrical mandala of flowers, leaves and other plant elements by Anke Brehm. The resulting natural color palette includes earthy tones such as beige, brown and subtle shades of orange. The symmetry is created by the pointed ends of the petals, which point outwards like rays and form a star-shaped pattern.

Friedas in the Omni

(Image: K P K)

The architecture of the Omni Tower and the adjacent modern skyscrapers in Frankfurt have a dramatic effect thanks to the perspective of K P K 's picture. The sky is clear and blue, which emphasizes the steel and glass structures. The reflections in the glass façades make the complex look particularly imposing and futuristic: Friedas in the Omni.

Red Sickler

(Image: dieterein)

The plumage of this sickler standing in the water looks particularly rich in contrast against the black background. Its feathers glow intensely in various shades of red and orange, while the head appears grayish. The reflection in the water is clear and mirrors it, creating a beautiful color symmetry. The nature of the red sickler is thus impressively depicted by dieterein.

After the rain

(Image: Martin Ruopp)

After the rain, the building opposite is reflected in this pool of water. The reflection is framed by droplets and you have to look twice to recognize what this picture is about. The black and white conversion makes Martin Ruopp 's photo all the more expressive.
