German retailers are listing Asus and MSI's 26.5-inch QD OLED monitors with 4K resolution and 240Hz. Interested buyers should prepare for a hefty price.

The first QD OLED displays with 4K resolution (3840 × 2140 pixels) and a diagonal of less than 30 inches are available in German stores. Asus and MSI are the first with their models: Asus sells the ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM (ab 1449,90 €) and MSI the MPG 272URXDE (ab 1199 €). Both are 26.5 inches in size.
Asus writes in a press release that the PG27UCDM will be available immediately. However, the monitor is not yet available in its own online store. Cyberport lists the model and adheres to the official price recommendation of 1500 euros, but does not yet give a specific delivery date.
Things look better at MSI: The 272URXDE is a good 300 euros cheaper and should be available soon. Several retailers have announced delivery dates in the next few days.

In terms of specifications, the two models are only slightly different. They use QD OLED panels from Samsung, which differ mainly in their factory settings and menus. QD-OLED displays beautiful, rich colors. However, due to the sub-pixel arrangement in the triangle , the displays show color fringing at high-contrast edges – how strongly you perceive this is subjective. The higher the pixel density, the less noticeable the color fringing becomes. The new 26.5-inch displays have 166 pixels per inch (ppi); the previous 31.5-inch displays have 140 ppi.
Samsung is also launching its monitor with the new panel, the Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF). In China, the manufacturer will be accepting pre-orders from February 20 for CNY 7999 – and later the recommended retail price will be CNY 8999. This corresponds to around 1055 and 1185 euros respectively. Delivery is scheduled to begin in March.
Samsung's G81SF differs somewhat more from the competition: While Asus and MSI (and other manufacturers) use a panel with a "semi-glossy" surface that only filters out the coarsest light reflections, Samsung once again relies on a matte version, according to the Chinese product page. LG is bringing its own WOLED panel with 4K resolution to 26.5 inches, but this will still take a few months.
