Hotfix for Powertoys: Version 0.85.1 corrects two errors
Less than a week after version 0.85, the developers have released Powertoys 0.85.1. They have corrected two errors.
The Powertoys are now available in version 0.85.1. This is a hotfix release, which is intended to iron out annoying bugs in the previous version around a week after it was released.
In the release notes, the Powertoys developers write that they are correcting exactly two errors in the new version. One concerns the "workspaces", which could start incorrect projects after clicking on a link. One specific message concerned the apps Signal and WhatsApp in a "Workspaces" shortcut, as they led to the launch of Facebook Messenger and a Line app instead.
Powertoys hotfix release corrects two errors
The second error occurred with the new "New+" function if the template directory was opened via the settings in the Powertoys app. This led to a crash. According to the corrections to the bug report, this occurred if the template directory did not exist.
Both errors should no longer occur with the updated version. Otherwise, there were no changes worth mentioning to the developers. The internal update search of the useful tool collection for Windows now finds the updated version and offers to install it.
As usual, updated installation packages are also available for download:
- Powertoys 0.85.1 (system-wide installation, x64)
- Powertoys 0.85.1 (system-wide installation, ARM64)
- Powertoys 0.85.1 (user installation, x64)
- Powertoys 0.85.1 (user installation, ARM64)
Just under a week ago, the developers released Powertoys 0.85.0. They corrected some problems with the "Workspaces" function, for example, but also added a new feature "New+". This allows you to create your own directory or file templates, which can be inserted at the desired location in the file system from the context menu of the file explorer.
