The Braunschweig-based IServ Group has acquired the company SBE network solutions GmbH and with it the Logodidact offering. This was announced by IServ this week. The acquisition took place retroactively to January 1 of this year.

With the takeover of SBE and thus the Logodidact school server offering, the IServ Group is pursuing a “multi-brand strategy”, according to its statements. Both the further development of Logodidact and the IServ school platform are to be driven forward. SBE will continue to exist as an independent company based in Bad Friedrichshall, Berlin, and Bielefeld. With the takeover, the IServ Group will grow from around 200 to over 300 employees at six locations in Germany.

Jochen Ernst, part of the management board of SBE network solutions GmbH, explained: “The integration of SBE into the IServ Group brings together two leading companies that, with their respective strengths and expertise, can achieve significantly more together to drive digitalization in the education market. This step was therefore a strategic decision for us, and we look forward to working with IServ to further develop our offerings together.” For IServ Managing Director Benjamin Heindl, the takeover means, among other things, a strengthening of his products and networks.

IServ has existed as a school platform since the early 2000s. In 2023, IServ GmbH founded three new sister companies, Eduplaces, Die Bildungsvernetzer and weEdu. In 2024, Virality GmbH, based in Munich, was acquired with its products DieSchulApp and EduBot. With its acquisitions, IServ currently supplies over 9,000 schools throughout Germany and Austria.

Most recently, Rhineland-Palatinate decided to offer IServ to all its schools free of charge. IServ RLP will be available to schools from next October, and use is voluntary. The service can be used, for example, to keep digital class registers or organize consultation days, and absences can also be reported there. Letters sent to parents can be translated automatically. Digital bulletin boards, forums, and survey tools allow teachers and pupils to exchange information in more detail.
According to the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Education, the service helps to reduce bureaucracy and makes school organization easier.
