Nvidia lowers official graphics card prices of the GeForce RTX 5000

The value of the euro has been rising against the US dollar since the beginning of March. Nvidia is using the exchange rate development for a nice gesture: the official, but non-binding recommended retail prices (RRP) of the GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 are falling by a good four percent. For the top model, for example, Nvidia is now quoting 2229 instead of 2329 euros.

However, the price reduction has not yet had any real impact, particularly for the two fastest graphics cards, the GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080. Nvidia's own Founders Editions at RRP prices are only being sold sporadically. The cheapest manufacturer cards of the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 exceed the RRP considerably.

Two manufacturer cards of the GeForce RTX 5070 are currently available at the old recommended retail price. This is where the probability is highest that the new RRP will be reached in the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, there is no adjustment for the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, which Nvidia itself does not offer as a Founders Edition.

Radeons also above the RRP

Meanwhile, the price reduction of the GeForce RTX 5070 helps against AMD's Radeon RX 9070. It should actually play in the same price league for 629 euros; however, it currently costs at least 700 euros. The faster Radeon RX 9070 XT is occasionally available from 820 euros and still undercuts the slightly faster GeForce RTX 5070 Ti.

Intel undercuts everyone

Intel is targeting a much more affordable price segment: The Arc B580 and B570 are the only models from the current generation that are available for less than 300 euros. The Arc B580 is available from 290 euros, the Arc B570 is slightly cheaper from 270 euros. In the case of the former, the manufacturers and dealers stick to the converted US price recommendation. With the Arc B570, they exceed this.
