OpenProject 15: New interface for single sign-on setup – and emojis
Version 15 of the project management tool OpenProject includes a redesigned timeline, emoji reactions and an interface for setting up SSO.
Version 15 of the open source project management software Open Project features a refreshed activity view, among other things. The timeline has been redesigned, comments and notifications are now to be loaded in real time and the need to reload is no longer necessary. Users can also respond to comments with emojis.
There is also something new when it comes to single sign-on: customers of the Enterprise Cloud version now have a user interface that allows them to independently set up single sign-on options with SAML and OIDC for their own users. Previously, such integrations between OpenProject and your own SAML or OpenID Connect stacks required the support of OpenProject Support.
The major release also brings an action menu in project lists for filtering and sorting, and there is a new option for admins to control the visibility of user email addresses. Details on other features and over 50 bug fixes can be found in the release notes. OpenProject is also part of openDesk, the open source alternative to Microsoft 365 funded by the German government, which was released in version 1.0 in October.
