die von Windows etc. auf den Mac wechseln. Der weltgrößte dürfte
dabei wohl Dr. Srinidhi Varadarajan, der Leiter des
Terascale-Projekts, sein:
"I was in the market for a new machine. I was hoping to get ten
teraflops by the end of the year. I'd never used a Mac and had been
looking at Dells and IBMs. Then Apple released the G5 on June 23. A
week later I bought 1,100 duals online at the Apple Store."

Der Mann ist offensichtlich ein Freund schneller Entscheidungen...
Jedenfalls musste er sich in der Woche auch mal schnell mit OS X
vertraut machen: :)

a Linux/UNIX kind of guy, and used Windows to run the Office
productivity suite. But I [bought] a 17-inch PowerBook laptop, and
found that it was quite easy to do everything I’d been doing under
the other platforms. I could compile the software application I’d
been developing; it just worked under Mac OS X. Plus, I could use the
productivity applications I needed, without having to reboot or
launch an emulator. Within three days I’d made up my mind that Mac OS
X and the new Power Mac G5 were the tools I wanted to use.”
