New laws in the EU require many digital products to be accessible from June 2025 on. One of the biggest problems for developers: testing. Many things have to be checked by hand because the automated testing tools only have limited coverage. However, developers like to have a safety net of automated tests in their CI-pipeline. Anna Maier will explain in her talk at c't <webdev> how developers can build such a safety net.

Anna's talk is just one of almost 40 presentations at c't <webdev>. The conference will cover the entire spectrum of frontend development in three tracks over two days. Some more examples from the agenda: In her talk Martina Kraus will show why passkey are more safe than passwords, how passkeys work and how to implement them into web applications. Axel Jäger will show how the 3D engine BabylonJS can be used to create an interactive canvas. And Marc Müller will demonstrate how optimistic UI updates can minimize delays in web applications by providing instant visual feedback and significantly improving the performance metric INP. Take a look at the full schedule.

The c't <webdev> 2024 conference will be held from November 13 to 14 in Cologne. On the day before, November 12, there will be three full-day workshops where you can deepen your knowledge on individual topics. Sebastian Springer will show in his Workshop how to build a complete application with next.js. Nils Röhrig will give you an overview on full stack development with Svelte & SvelteKit. And Marco Emrich and Sebastian Rose will give you an overview on different „schools“ of test-driven development and which approach is best suited in which context.

A workshop ticket costs 879 Euros. Tickets for the conference cost 749 Euros, full conference passes with one additional workshop pass cost 1549 Euros - if you book at the early bird rate, which is valid until 16.10. Afterwards they will cost 849 and 1649 Euros. Here are more information.
