ToolJet has launched version 3.0 of its low-code platform for enterprise applications, which includes several new features and revisions.
ToolJet 3.0: New design for the Application Builder
The development team has fundamentally redesigned the application builder, apparently with the aim of increasing performance. According to the announcement, it should now load applications up to ten times faster and can now handle large and complex applications with thousands of UI components.
This overhaul is due to a new architecture that is intended to give developers easier state management and greater control over UI rendering.

Workflow automation tool with new user interface
The workflow automation tool is now officially available. It brings a redesigned user interface for improved error handling and debugging tools. Users can now trigger workflows via webhooks that can be secured with a so-called secret – this refers to confidential information such as API keys or passwords that are securely stored and managed to prevent unauthorized access.
The list of new features in relation to this tool includes support for multi-environments, comprehensive execution logs and error handling at node level.
Security and access control
In the area of security and access control, ToolJet 3.0 introduces new predefined user roles to simplify the management of access rights. Administrators can now synchronize user groups from OIDC with ToolJet, and users have the option of being redirected directly to the SSO (single sign-on) login page. Workspace constants now support the secure storage of encrypted secrets.
The update extends the ToolJet database: it now supports SQL interactions, enables complex queries with aggregate functions and groupings and offers the option of duplicating tables.
A look into the future
ToolJet is planning to integrate further functions in the future. These include modules for the reuse of components and queries, the organization of queries and pages in folders and planned triggers for workflows. In addition, integrations with external secret management tools and further improvements to ToolJet Copilot are planned.
Full details of these new features can be found in the release notes.
