Better learning effect for first aid training with VR glasses
First aid training with VR goggles apparently improves learning success with theoretical knowledge in the short and long term. This is the result of a study.

VR glasses apparently improve the theoretical results of participants in first aid courses. In practice, however, no differences were found compared to conventional teaching methods. In a study involving 193 participants in the fourth clinical semester, doctors at Essen University Hospital examined how VR-supported learning affects the results of a first aid refresher course in emergency medicine. The test subjects were divided into a traditional learning group and a team with VR training.
The main difference between the two groups was that the participants in the VR training received direct feedback on resuscitation measures in their simulation exercises and were able to immerse themselves visually in the scene. Some test subjects struggled with the technology at first, but were then satisfied with the results of the training.
According to Dr. Cynthia Szalai and PD Dr. Frank Herbstreit, the study could help to establish virtual reality offerings as a supplement to first aid training. This would make it easier to impart knowledge in an accessible way, which would ultimately increase the willingness and ability of helpers to act correctly in an emergency.

Virtual reality products are also increasingly being used for less dramatic applications. Fitness personality Sophia Thiel explains in an interview what VR glasses can do for physical and mental health at home.
