With an update for the PlayStation Portal streaming console, which has been available since summer 2023, Sony is offering PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers the opportunity to experience selected PS5 games via cloud streaming. The games are streamed directly from a server so that you do not need to own a PS5 console. This offer also launches today for European customers, who can initially participate as part of a beta version via the PS Portal. Sony would like to point out that there may still be changes to the functions during the beta phase.
More than 120 PS5 games
Over 120 PS5 games from the PS Plus games catalog are available in the beta version – including "Dave the Diver", "Ghost of Tsushima" and "Monster Hunter Rise". The resolution is up to 1080p/60fps. In addition, the DualSense wireless controller is supported with functions such as haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, speakers, touchpad and motion sensor. Game saves and progress can be stored up to 100 GB in the PlayStation Plus cloud and automatically synchronized with the PS5 console.

However, according to Sony, some functions are not available, such as demos, streaming games purchased from the PlayStation Store, system functions such as party voice chat and invitations for selected games, the Create button and 3D audio. Currently, only PS5 games are supported, PS4 and PS3 games are not compatible.
In addition, the system update for the PS Portal should offer an improved audio experience. This includes adjusting the speaker output, which reduces the volume at minimum audio settings.
Around a year ago, Sony made it possible for Playstation Plus subscribers to stream PS5 games directly to the PS5. It is also possible to stream games for the Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 to the PS5. Playstation Plus Premium is the most expensive of Sony's subscription levels. It costs 16.99 euros per month or 152 euros for an annual subscription.
