This week you will discover various snapshots – from the honest joy of a child to majestic castles and the warm season. With some of the pictures, you can't help but reminisce about past summer days and look forward to the next ones.

Evening by the North Sea

During a photo tour in Denmark at Rubjek Knude, Lula (alias Lutz Lange) found the opportunity to capture the beach in a long exposure. The evening on the North Sea is almost magically depicted by the movement of the surf and the colors of the sunset. The driftwood in the foreground completes the picture.

Excited

Little Emil can hardly hold himself back from finally skating onto the ice and playing. The passion for the sport and the emotions that go with it are vividly captured here by cat food. He is excited, and it shows. The portrait picture looks lively and real.

Structures and light

Reiner von der Schlei (aka Reiner Weber) used a glass plate for this photograph that had previously been used for an art project, then treated with oil paint and temporarily stored outdoors under a transparent film. It had rained overnight, creating this structure on the film. The structures and light form an abstract but atmospheric overall picture.

A summery picture of the Westerheversand 5 lighthouse, its impressive symmetry, the reflection in the puddle in the foreground and the adjacent salt marshes make the viewer literally taste the sea breeze on their tongue. This makes this picture by DiSe.fotografie look all the more like a warm summer evening after a rainy day.

The castle in Schwerin, which has been declared a World Heritage Site, is attracting more and more visitors to the city. So it's almost surprising that NAlois only came across one other photographer when he was shooting this palace. Only 2 photographers in Schwerin photograph the building at night after a rainy day. The black-and-white setting, together with the damp ground and the lights, makes it stand out particularly well.

Fire lilies in the Dolomites

holysh0t presents a multi-layered landscape photograph that uses fire lilies in the Dolomites for the foreground, but at the same time has a lot more to offer. The lush, green meadows and the rainbow clearly set the gray sky and the mountains in the background. A warm summer's day is wonderfully depicted, which will probably soon be replaced by a thunderstorm.

White-lipped bamboo otter

An encounter between man and animal without a pane of glass – Peter Bielstein takes a photo of a white-lipped bamboo otter at TerraZoo. The emerald green scales form a color contrast to the rest of the picture; this animal could camouflage itself perfectly in the jungle.
