"We waited over 10 years until there was a label that was suitable for our mouse," explains Susanne Jordan from the registered association Nager IT. Now the time has come: the "Fair Mouse" is the first product in the new category "Computers, keyboards and mice (DE-UZ 78)" to bear the Blue Angel eco-label. According to Jordan, social aspects are also part of the Blue Angel criteria catalog for these devices for the first time.

Nager IT is working hard to procure the most environmentally friendly components possible for the supposedly simple PC mouse. For example, 80 percent of the housing is made from polylactic acid (PLA), which is obtained from sugar cane. The scroll wheel is made of wood and the solder wire comes from Fairloetet.
As many work steps as possible in the production of the Fair Mouse are outsourced to companies that employ their staff under fair working conditions.
The Fair Mouse is also designed in such a way that it is easy to repair. The housing and individual parts of it, the scroll wheel, the buttons and the cable are all available as spare parts.
The impressive graphic overview of the supply chain shows how many preliminary products and different raw materials are used to make even simple electronic devices.
