People who are more familiar with artificial intelligence find it more useful in their day-to-day work. This is the result of a study by software company SAP. If a company uses AI in the recruitment or hiring process, potential employees react more positively and are more likely to opt for a job than in application processes that do not use AI. The researchers also provide tips on how managers can promote the use of AI in the company.

People with little knowledge of artificial intelligence are six times more likely to be skeptical and seven times more likely to be anxious about the professional use of AI than people with a high level of knowledge. Of them, 70 percent believe in the positive effects of using AI at work, compared to 29 percent of employees with little knowledge. Of this group, 44 percent demanded that employees who use AI should be paid less than those who do not use AI. In the survey, more than half of respondents favored better performance reviews for employees who use AI.

Regardless of whether people are familiar with artificial intelligence, its use is a factor in the application process. Between 45 and 57 percent of respondents said they were more likely to apply for a job or accept an offer if the company used AI in the recruitment process. They consider the recruitment process to be more balanced and assume that the advertised job suits them better. For people with better AI skills, the proportion is between 66 and 75 percent.

The SAP researchers surveyed over 4,000 managers and employees worldwide for the study. Based on this data, they developed tips on how managers can improve the acceptance of AI among their employees. The majority of the recommendations relate to knowledge of artificial intelligence. Companies should train their employees on AI, allow them to learn from each other and encourage curiosity. At the same time, in addition to the practical use of AI tools, the researchers recommend open communication that highlights goals and previous successes.
