Critical error in all Notes/Domino servers prevents mail routing
It's a nightmare for all Domino admins. Since Friday, December 13, 2024, mail routing has failed in all versions of HCL Domino after a restart.

The support document from HCL is very vague. It warns against rebooting servers and states that HCL is working on a solution without currently being able to offer one. The document also warns against resetting the date. There is no indication yet as to what is causing this error. Servers that have not been restarted will continue to run. One can only assume that the bug is in the startup routine of the router task.
It is important to note that this error affects all versions of Domino. HCL is only talking about its own versions 9.x to 14.x, but we can assume that versions from Lotus or IBM are also affected. As things stand today, HCL will only deliver a fix to customers with a support contract. The consequences are anyone's guess.
In 2017, IBM began transferring its production software to the Indian IT company HCL; since 2019, HCL has been fully responsible for the development and maintenance of the former Lotus products Notes/Domino and other applications acquired from IBM.
