Powertoys 0.87.0: Multi-level transformations for advanced insertion

Microsoft's Powertoys version 0.87.0 adds advanced insert multi-level transformations and lets you include PWA workspaces.

Shortly before the turn of the year, Microsoft's developers have released an update for Powertoys to version 0.87.0. They come with many minor improvements that make everyday life easier.

In the release notes, the programmers highlight a few highlights. The most exciting is the "Advanced AI" in the "Advanced Paste" function. This allows you to chain transformations and work with images and files. However, they warn that the function could consume more API credit.

Sorted workspace

The "workspaces" start several programs at the click of a mouse and distribute the windows on the desktop according to the user's wishes. The function can now also handle Progressive Web Apps (PWA), launch them and position their app windows as desired. In addition, "Workspaces" can now also move program windows that are already open instead of opening new ones.

The "New+" function, which can insert files and directory templates at desired locations in the file system with a mouse click, now also runs correctly in Windows 10. In multi-monitor operation with different DPI densities, the preview extension of the power toys occasionally had display problems, which should be corrected by using a different function. The Awake function, which is used to prevent the computer from going to sleep, has generally seen improvements in initialization, logging and tray icon setup. Numerous other minor corrections can be found in the release notes.
