Honda is showcasing two advanced prototypes of its new electric car platform "Honda 0" (Honda Zero) at the CES in Las Vegas. The platform, which was presented at last year's trade fair, will initially support two models that are due to be launched on the market in 2025. Honda is also developing a new operating system and its own system-on-chip (SoC) for the vehicles.
"Saloon" and "SUV"
The two models "Honda 0 Saloon" and "Honda 0 SUV" are planned for 2026. While the spacious "Saloon" saloon is still closely based on last year's prototype, Honda has visibly developed the design of the SUV further. In the design of the platform, the manufacturer is following the concept of "slim, light and wise".

)For the "Honda 0" platform, Honda is working on its own operating system called "Asimo OS", named after the company's famous humanoid robot. The system includes the integrated control units for systems such as automated driving, driving assistants and infotainment in the vehicle. Together with chip manufacturer Renesas, Honda is developing an SoC for the Zero series using the 3 nm process, which should be ready for series production in the next generation of vehicles.
Level 3 automation
On this basis, the "Honda 0" models will enable automated driving at level 3. This is the level at which the vehicle temporarily drives itself and the driver can turn their attention to other things – to watch a video or take part in a video meeting, for example. However, drivers must still be able to intervene at any time. According to US media reports, however, it is still unclear whether the Honda Zeros will be capable of Level 3 by the time they are launched in the USA.

The manufacturer is also keeping further technical details of the new e-cars under wraps. According to media reports, Honda is still relying on 400-volt technology for the drive train of the prototypes. It is unclear whether the production vehicles will then come with the modern 800 volts. The battery should enable a range of around 500 kilometers.
According to Honda, the SUV should be available in the USA in the first half of 2026 and then also come to Europe and Japan. Later in the year, the "Saloon" will also come to North America and then to other markets. The manufacturer has not yet provided any information on the price segment.
