The first two Radeon graphics cards with RDNA4 architecture will not be released until March 2025: the Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070. This was confirmed by David McAfee, AMD manager responsible for Radeon and Ryzen products, via X.
AMD announced the two graphics cards at the CES 2025 tech trade fair, but revealed virtually no details. Publicly, the company spoke roughly of a market launch in the first quarter of 2025. heise online also heard behind the scenes that the originally planned launch date was the end of January. In line with this, test samples were already circulating in China, and stores were already listing manufacturer cards in the meantime.
Waiting for Nvidia
According to rumors, AMD wants to wait for Nvidia's market launch of the GeForce RTX 5000 graphics cards. The GeForce RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti in February are particularly relevant for AMD, as these graphics cards are likely to compete with the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070. AMD will have to choose its prices depending on the actual gaming performance.

AMD is still not providing any further details, neither on the chip specifications nor on pricing. All that is officially known is that the chip contract manufacturer TSMC produces the graphics chips using 4-nanometer technology and that AMD is introducing the AI upscaler FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4) at the same time. Also included: artificial frame generation between real rendered images.
Nvidia recommends 879 euros for the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and 649 euros for the smaller sister model without the Ti appendage. AMD will follow suit. The two top models GeForce RTX 5090 and 5080 will be released earlier, on January 30. AMD is not launching any high-end graphics cards with the RX 9000 generation and has no competition for these models.
