The robotics start-up Primech AI uses Nvidia's System on Module (SoM) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies from Nvidia, such as the Cuda Deep Neural Network library for improved decision-making and TesorRT for optimizing neural networks, in its Hytron bathroom cleaning robot. According to Primech AI, this enables the robot to clean toilets autonomously and more efficiently.
The Hytron bathroom cleaning robot is to be used by major customers, such as airports, hospitals and shopping centers, to clean washrooms automatically. The robot uses artificial intelligence to navigate independently in confined spaces and carry out various cleaning tasks autonomously. This includes cleaning mirrors, bathroom sinks and toilets.
The robot itself consists of a mobile platform on which a multi-jointed robot arm is mounted. It can pick up various cleaning tools with a gripper and apply cleaning fluid with a spray nozzle.

Efficient cleaning with AI technology
The latest version of the robot is equipped with an Nvidia Jetson Orin Super SoM, which is suitable for robust AI and robotics applications and is designed to be energy-efficient. In addition, Primech AI uses various software from Nvidia in the Hytron, such as the Cuda Deep Neural Network library (CuDNN), TensorRT and Cuda.
CuDNN is used for the acceleration of deep learning neural networks. This enables Hytron to use AI algorithms that improve decision-making. TensorRT is a software development kit (SDK) that optimizes neural networks on Nvidia's graphics processing units (GPUs). The aim is to reduce latency and improve overall responsiveness. Cuda enables GPUs to be used for complex calculations and accelerates processing speed and efficiency.

Primech AI has high hopes for the integration of Nvidia's AI technology into its Hytron robot. The autonomous cleaning of washrooms and toilets is thus carried out with higher performance and reliability. This will enable the company to expand its market presence. However, the robot will first be tested in a pilot project together with the investment company Golden Rim Investment, which owns three hotels with around 260 rooms in Japan.
Primech AI plans to introduce the Hytron in Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai in 2025. Australia is then to be tapped in 2026 and the global cleaning market in 2027, which is expected to have a total volume of around 74 billion US dollars in 2025.
