GeForce RTX 5090 and 5080 with poor availability at start
Nvidia admits that the GeForce RTX 5090 and 5080 will hardly be available at launch. The forecasts are mixed.

The GeForce RTX 5090 and GeForce RTX 5080 will go on sale on January 30. Nvidia usually sets the starting signal for 3 pm. However, interested parties are likely to have a hard time: Nvidia confirms speculation in its forum that availability will be poor at the start.
Nvidia itself argues that it expects high demand. Recently and weeks, however, there have been increasing reports from manufacturers and retailers that there will be hardly any stock to begin with. Videocardz writes without citing a source that Nvidia has provided partner manufacturers with final BIOS versions too late. However, these are necessary before the graphics cards are packaged and shipped. Added to this are the Chinese New Year holidays, with production being heavily scaled back.
On the website of the South Korean mall TagTag, partner manufacturer Zotac writes that its models of the GeForce RTX 5090 will not be available until February. However, the GeForce RTX 5080 will be available at the launch on January 30.
Various websites and X-accounts disagree on whether the delivery problems could last a few weeks or several months.

Moderate increase in performance
Numerous tests of the first two RTX 5000 graphics cards are now online. According to these tests, the GeForce RTX 5090 is on average almost 30 percent faster than the GeForce RTX 4090 in 4K resolution. The RTX 5080 is only up to 15 percent ahead of the RTX 4080 Super – in lower resolutions, the lead shrinks to five percent. The biggest advantage of the 5000 series is the support for Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) 4.
Contact points for graphics cards at the start of sales include the retailers Alternate, Caseking, Mindfactory and Notebooksbilliger. The latter store sells Nvidia's Founders Editions in Germany. Foraum operates bots that draw attention to available offers for the GeForce RTX 5090 and GeForce RTX 5080.
