Bosch has updated the E-Bike Flow app for Bosch's smart system to version 1.25. The update brings Live Sync for Komoot, making it easier to transfer routes planned in Komoot to the e-bike for navigation. The Ride Screen has also been given a practical view switch. Users of a Rohloff E-14 can now automatically shift to first gear when stopping.

The new functions are available after installing update 1.25 of the Flow app. Bosch has improved the integration of Komoot routes in particular. Previously, routes planned with Komoot had to be synchronized with the Flow app and accessed from there. This is now a little easier with Live Sync.

After planning the route in Komoot, all you have to do now is press the "Navigate with Bosch eBike Flow" button. This works both with the smartphone app and via the Komoot route planning website on the computer. A push notification from the Flow app then appears on the smartphone. A tap on it then starts navigation of the route.

Live Sync is particularly useful when two or more e-bikers are out and about and routes need to be spontaneously rescheduled and redistributed. The ride organizer changes the route on Komoot and the assigned participants receive the changes immediately. At the start of a group ride, the route can be easily distributed to all participants. They receive a push message and can then start the route immediately.

In addition, suggestions of recommended routes in the vicinity will be made under "My routes" in future. In order to use the Komoot integration, the Flow app must be linked to the Komoot account as before.

A very practical function is the option to change the view on the Ride screen of the Flow app. At the touch of a button, you can switch from the current centered position to an overview view of the entire route during navigation. Pressing the button then takes you back to the zoomed navigation view. This gives e-bikers a quick overview of the entire route.

Users who own an e-bike with an electronic Rohloff E-14 gearshift will no longer have to downshift manually before stops. From now on, the gears will do this themselves. It will automatically shift into first gear as soon as the e-bike has stopped – at traffic lights, for example. To be able to use this function, a firmware update must be installed on the Rohloff gearshift. However, the update is only due to be released "in the next few weeks".

The Flow app update is already available for Android and iOS. For iOS, the update can be initiated manually via the App Store. The update for Android will gradually be delivered to smartphones via the Play Store.
