AMD Radeon RX 9070 (XT) arrives in early March

AMD has set a date of early March for the market launch of its first RX-9000 graphics cards. This was confirmed by the company's CEO Lisa Su at the analyst conference following the announcement of AMD's business figures. AMD's chief architect for gaming solutions Frank Azor confirmed the timeframe once again on X.

In the meantime, the Chinese-language website Uniko's Hardware reported from an anonymous source that both the Radeon RX 9070 XT and the Radeon RX 9070 would be available from March 6. Meanwhile, the website has adjusted its report and only reproduces AMD's official statement on the launch at the beginning of March.

Possible announcement event in February

The Taiwanese website Benchlife.info mentions a possible AMD event at the end of February for the announcement of the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070. The first test reports could appear somewhere in between – this usually happens a few days to a week before the market launch of new graphics cards.

AMD remains silent on pricing. The 9070 models are primarily intended to compete with Nvidia's GeForce RTX 5070 and GeForce RTX 5070 Ti. According to rumors, the Ti variant will be released on February 20; the normal RTX 5070 in March. So there will be a lot of competition in the upper mid-range in the coming weeks and months – hopefully with better availability than with the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 at the moment.

AMD originally wanted to launch the Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070 in January, but then postponed the market launch at short notice. According to speculation, Nvidia's pricing of the GeForce RTX 5070 (Ti) contributed to the postponement. Nvidia recommends 879 and 649 euros respectively for its models.
