The viewer encounters special moments in the photos taken by our gallery photographers – splashing spray, intense gazes and heavenly visitors.

This week's pictures are all about impressive snapshots: Movement, contrasts and interactions have been captured intensely or humorously. The raw power of a roaring wave meets the soft colors of a morning, while a fascinating comet passes through the night sky.
Pius I

In the photograph Pius I by KPK, the train in the Cologne subway station looks particularly dynamic. The reflection in the glass pane creates the illusion of two passing vehicles. The traces of light emphasize the speed of the movement and create a strong depth effect that draws the eye into the picture.
Faster...!
(Image: Der Färber)
Hungry blackbird chicks open their beaks and demand food:"Faster...!". But they could also be involved in an excited argument: The open beaks look as if no one is willing to budge from their position – a successful shot of Der Färber with plenty of humor and room for interpretation.
Bad weather can also be a good thing.

The photos were taken "about an hour after sunrise with a good swell. I can only guess why the jetty was closed...", recalls Kurt von Hebsack. The sky shines in delicate pastel shades and creates a stark contrast between the peaceful morning mood and the powerful force of the sea."There's something good about bad weather".
Kashmere V

"The model Sylvia contacted me on a Sunday morning following an advertisement, and by the afternoon she was already in my studio. Her eyes simply blew me away, which is why I attached particular importance to a striking realization," remembers RickB500. "The title(Kashmere V) was created while I was editing the photo and listening to the radio."
skyfall: comet C2023A3 & Milky Way
(Image:Â stopp.i.motion)
Comet C2023A3 passes with its luminous tail across the night sky of a mountain valley. The long exposure time makes the structure of the Milky Way clearly visible and gives the image a special depth. This is why stopp.i.motion gave his picture the title"skyfall: comet C2023A3 & Milky Way".
Old head post office
(Image:Â schokopanscher)
The Alte Oberpostdirektion unfolds a fascinating dynamic due to the extreme distortion. Schokopanscher describes the image aptly: "Captured with a circular fisheye lens and an impressive angle of 210 degrees, the image shows the inner courtyard of the Alte Oberpostdirektion on Hamburg's Stephansplatz from a distorted, almost surreal perspective."
In the rain by anbeco4macro

A water buffalo stares curiously at anbeco4macro in the rain. The black and white filter impressively emphasizes the striking horns, while its massive body defies the weather and radiates a powerful presence.
