Since late Monday morning, Datev applications have been extensively disrupted. It appears that it is currently not possible to work online with the company's software.

Datev's status website indicates the extensive outages. "There are currently massive restrictions in the DATEV applications. We are analyzing the cause and impact. We will communicate the applications affected by the disruption immediately," the company writes there.

Since around 10:30 a.m. Central European Time, Datev has been experiencing disruptions to various services, such as the e-invoicing service, the digital personnel file, the booking data service, the password-protected Datev area, the log-in to the Datev account and various others. Since 11:19 a.m., the data center communication has also stopped working, and since 12:22 p.m., it has no longer been possible to accept data for the advance VAT return from the tax consultant for transmission to the tax authorities. The list reads as if there is a far-reaching disruption at Datev.

The causes of the disruption are still unclear. The company has not yet provided any information. There is also no information on the website as to when the fault can be expected to be rectified.

Datev was not immediately able to answer an inquiry from heise online about the causes of the disruption. We will provide an answer as soon as we receive it.

At the end of January, for example, there were problems with logging into Microsoft 365 services. In connection with Chromium-based web browsers, it was not possible to log in to the services, and the Microsoft authenticator did not receive the authentication request.
