Apple released iOS 18.3.1 and other updates for its operating systems on Monday evening. According to the release notes, the updates contain "important bug fixes and security updates that are recommended for all users". In addition to iOS, macOS 15.3.1, watchOS 11.3.1 and visionOS 2.3.1 were also released. iOS 18.3 and other updates were released just recently. They mainly contain additional functions for Apple Intelligence.
According to an Apple support document, iOS 18.3.1 and iPadOS 18.3.1 fix a vulnerability that allows attackers to disable USB port protection. However, physical access to a device is required to exploit this vulnerability. This vulnerability is also said to have already been exploited against certain people.
As minor updates for iOS 17, macOS 14 and macOS 13 are also available, it can be assumed that these are bugs that go back further.

The wait for iOS 18.4 continues
Meanwhile, there was no sign of the first beta version of iOS 18.4 on Monday evening. This is eagerly awaited by EU users in particular, as it is expected to bring Apple Intelligence to the European Union as well as language support for German when it is completed in April. However, it remains to be seen whether these enhancements can be tested in the first beta. Equally exciting is the question of whether Apple's artificial intelligence can be used by EU users without any restrictions. Or whether Apple will restrict functions so as not to risk any conflicts with the EU Commission.
Internationally, the first AI improvements for voice assistant Siri are expected with iOS 18.4. Apple held out the prospect of these at the WWDC developer conference in June 2024. However, they have not yet appeared in the software on the devices.
