Vision Pro: Allegedly soon with Apple Intelligence

Apple Intelligence will reportedly also be extended to the Vision Pro in April. With visionOS 2.4, Apple's first "spatial computer" will then receive the artificial intelligence functions that are currently also available for the iPhone, iPad and Mac. According to a report by the US financial news agency Bloomberg, a first beta version will be released this week.

From a purely hardware perspective, the expansion seems like a logical step. Apple has described the Vision Pro as a fully-fledged computer in 2023. In addition, the M2 chip and 16 gigabytes of RAM meet the same requirements that apply to the other device categories that have received Apple's artificial intelligence to date. The main focus here is on the ability to process AI data locally.

Silence prevails so far

Doubts have been raised primarily because Apple's €4,000 headset is not expected to be a bestseller in its first version. The slowdown in sales in Apple Stores has led to rumors that Apple is concentrating its efforts on other, more successful platforms for the time being. As the company has so far remained silent on whether and how Apple Intelligence can be expected on the Vision Pro, expectations of an imminent inclusion have so far been low.

The AI functions on the Vision Pro are said to include the image creation app Image Playgrounds, Genmojis (customized emojis using image AI) and writing tools. The option to consult ChatGPT for composing texts is also to be implemented. For voice assistant Siri, however, the Vision Pro version of the AI should also correspond to the current status. Apple's announcement to improve Siri with AI still needs to be followed by action. Vision Pro would also benefit significantly from this.

Improved guest mode?

Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman bases his report on unnamed sources within the company. According to him, visionOS 2.4 will also include an improved guest mode and a new app for spatial content on the Vision Pro.
