Amazon presents its cheapest routers with Wi-Fi 7
The eero 7 and eero Pro 7 round off Amazon's current generation of routers at the bottom end. They start at 200 euros.

Amazon presents two new routers that are compatible with the Wi-Fi 7 wireless standard. The eero 7 is the new entry-level model with a limited range of functions. For example, the router does not have a third wireless band in the 6 GHz network. However, it does offer two 2.5 Gbit/s connections via Ethernet cable.
In addition to the 2.4 and 5 GHz networks, the eero Pro 7 can also set up one in the 6 GHz band. Amazon therefore speaks of a total gross data rate of 3.9 Gbit/s instead of 1.8 Gbit/s. Despite the "Pro" designation, the router is quite narrow-bodied compared to other upper-class models – it only uses two MIMO streams with a narrow channel width per wireless network and not four like some competitor models.

The eero Pro 7 also has two Ethernet ports, but at 5 Gbit/s they transmit data twice as fast as the normal eero 7. Amazon does not integrate any modems – The routers are therefore most likely intended as a second device in addition to the provider modem. One Ethernet port can be used as a WAN port to connect to the modem.
Both routers are powered via USB-C. There are no other USB ports, for example for connecting a hard disk for your own mini-cloud.

Delivery from the end of February
Amazon plans to accept pre-orders soon; delivery is scheduled to begin on February 26. The eero 7 costs 200 euros individually. Amazon also sells 3-packs for setting up a mesh WLAN. Amazon charges 350 euros for the eero Pro 7. A 3-pack is also available here, which costs 800 euros. The top model remains the eero Max 7 for an impressive 700 euros.
With the price of the eero Pro 7, Amazon is competing with AVM's Fritzbox 5690 Pro (starting from 288 €). It has faster WLAN and integrated modems for fiber optics and DSL. A USB data connection (5 Gbit/s) is also included. On the other hand, those interested will have to do without 5 Gbit/s Ethernet.
