AMD's Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D to be released in mid-March
The next two processors for AM5 mainboards are apparently coming on March 12. Tests should be available earlier.

AMD is said to have set a date for the two desktop processors Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D: According to a post on the Chinese Weibo forum, test reports of both models will appear on March 11, 2025.
The information comes from "金猪升级包" – the account has often been correct in advance information about AMD. Videocardz adds that sales of both processors will start one day later, on March 12. The split between test reports and sales launch has been common for years.
AMD has officially announcedthe 16-core Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 12-core Ryzen 9 9900X3D for the first quarter of 2025. For both CPUs, AMD has given one compute die (CCD) an extra 64 MB of level 3 cache in the form of stacked memory. The gaming performance should be similar to that of the eight-core Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The second compute die without extra cache has a higher clock rate and should therefore deliver better performance in applications that benefit more from the clock than from the cache.
Ryzen 7 9800X3D becomes cheaper
The availability of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D (starting from 439 €) has been increasing for a few weeks now. Numerous large German retailers have it in stock. This means that the processor is finally approaching AMD's recommended retail price of 529 euros – three months after its market launch.

Meanwhile, the predecessor Ryzen 7 7800X3D (starting from 356,99 €) hardly offers any savings. The price has risen almost continuously since mid-2024. Back then, it only cost 320 euros. The current entry-level X3D on the AM5 platform is the six-core Ryzen 5 7600X3D (starting from 258,99 €).
The AM4 model Ryzen 7 5700X3D has also become more expensive in recent months, albeit not to the same extent. In September 2024, it was still available for 185 euros.
