Eleven Labs and Spotify: AI-powered books for streaming
Eleven Labs publishes a reader app for dubbing and streaming content. Spotify is also on board.

Eleven Labs has presented the Eleven Reader. An app that can be used to publish books, books and content, which are then presented in the app using an AI voice. All people and content creators can now access the service. The AI-voiced content will also be approved by Spotify. The two companies have recently started cooperating on this.
The idea behind this, writes Eleven Labs in a blog post, is to make the dubbing of books more affordable. This was previously quite expensive, meaning that only around 5 percent of all books are available as audio versions. The first authors have already been able to use the app to set their content to music and make it available to listeners. Now everyone can. However, there is a waiting list.

It also appears that the soundtrack is still free of charge. In the future, however, it will be subject to a fee, at least according to TechCrunch, ranging from 11 to 330 US dollars per month, which publishers could pay – which is cheaper than renting a studio and booking voice actors.
Eleven Labs pays for listeners
The authors are not paid for providing their content in the app; they are paid as soon as users interact with their content. Of course, this means when the content is listened to. For a listening time of eleven minutes, the authors are to receive 1.10 US dollars. In a test phase, it was found that people spend an average of 19 minutes listening to an audiobook. Even if the remuneration sounds low, Eleven Labs says it is the best in the industry. Initially, however, it is only available for English-language books by authors from the USA. Listeners have the option of choosing a voice – if the author allows it.
Eleven Labs specializes in voice AI. The company offers talking AI agents at – and the option of giving other AI agents a voice. The software can be integrated into existing systems. You can create voice recordings for all kinds of needs and convert them into different languages.
