LightColorMeter: “small triangle” measures light and color temperature real-time
Datacolor has introduced the LightColorMeter, a small personal assistant for measuring light and color values during video and photo shoots.

With the LightColor Meter, Datacolor presents a real-time measuring device for exposure values and color temperatures in photo and video recordings. The measured values are transmitted to the manufacturer's app and are intended to provide the user with quick and precise data. The exposure and color lighting parameters are then adjusted on site based on the measured data. The LightColor Meter can be used both in the studio with artificial light sources and outdoors with sunlight.

In addition, several devices can be combined to achieve uniform lighting over large areas. The small device can be attached to clothing with a magnet, for example, or mounted on a tripod with a 1⁄4 inch thread. Datacolor claims that its new product is more accurate than the automatic white balance function in cameras. The Datacolor LightColor Meter is now available directly from the manufacturer, specialist retailers and online retailers for 450 euros.

Spyder and Checkr
Datacolor is best known for its Spyder and Checkr products. The Spyder and SpyderPro are used to display colors correctly and neutrally on a screen. In contrast, Checkr, which is available in a wide variety of versions, is a palette of colors and grayscales that are filmed or photographed to provide a basis for post-processing. Once this has been done on site, the desired expression of the parameters can be adjusted later with greater accuracy.
