DeepL: New Clarify function asks about ambiguities
A highly specialized LLM is designed to make the translations of DeepL more accurate. The new function is available to customers of DeepL Pro.

The language AI platform DeepL has introduced a new function called "Clarify". This allows users to clarify ambiguities in the translation. To do this, the user is asked questions about the entered text, such as idioms, gender-specific references and technical terms. The AI then uses this additional information to significantly improve the translation result.
"Clarify" is based on the company's own Large Language Models (LLMs), which have been trained by language experts, according to DeepL. Currently, DeepL has over 200,000 business customers worldwide. The new function is intended to make translations more accurate for these customers. The DeepL platform has already produced translations that require two to three times less post-editing than its competitors, according to the company's research.

Clarify is now available to DeepL Pro users worldwide in the web translator at DeepL. The function currently supports translations between German and English (in both directions) and will soon be expanded to include other language combinations. The feature meets the same enterprise-focused security and compliance standards as DeepL Pro in general.
