Nuki Smart Lock Pro: New knob model has space for a key again
The new Pro version of Nuki's lock is as small as the Ultra, but does not require a special cylinder. The Go is a Matter model for little money.
The new Nuki is a compact knob that can also hold a key head.

A few months after the launch of its Smart Lock Ultra lock drive, manufacturer Nuki is renewing its Pro line with similar product features. The new Pro is also shaped like a compact knob and does not have a bulky base. In contrast, however, the new Nuki Smart Lock Pro can be slipped over a key inserted from the inside – just like previous Pro models. The new model does not need a special Nuki locking cylinder, which has a coupling pin on the inside instead of a key inlet, to be similarly compact. It is 70 millimetres long, so it protrudes twelve millimetres further into the room.
The Pro inherits the Ultra's very high motor closing speed of 1.5 seconds. As a further extra talent, Nuki integrates WLAN as well as Bluetooth and saves the purchase of a bridge for web access. Thread radio is on board for interaction with Matter-compatible smart home platforms. If you use suitable Apple control panels, you can also use the energy-saving wireless protocol for remote access – instead of the power-hungry Wi-Fi, a currently exclusive power-saving trick from Nuki and Apple.

The fifth generation of the Nuki Smart Lock Pro, now in the shape of a knob, is available from today for 270 euros. A detailed test will be published shortly by Heise+ and c't. The Ultra model, including the special locking cylinder, remains on sale for 350 euros.
Inexpensive Go, no new intercom system
The manufacturer is supplementing the two high-priced lock drives with a more affordable product called Nuki Smart Lock Go. At a price of 150 euros, the model, which is also available from today, has similar inner values, including the integrated WLAN bridge as well as Thread and Matter.

However, it closes a little less quickly. Nuki also includes batteries in the box. A battery pack costs 50 euros extra. Certain remote access functions can be unlocked for 50 euros. Contrary to industry reports, Nuki says it is not working on new accessories for intercom systems. The manufacturer has written to some of its registered customers to ask what they would expect from a successor model to the Nuki Opener. The design presented as Nuki Intercom for inspiration is a product idea without a concrete implementation plan.
