Microsoft is transferring more functions from the old Control Panel with its outdated interface to the more modern Settings app. The company is currently testing the move in preview build 26276 for Windows Server 2025. The normal Windows 11 should follow with an upcoming preview and then the final version.
So far, there are only options for pointer speed and pointer accuracy in the Windows 11 settings. They can be found under "Bluetooth and devices" > Mouse. In the Accessibility tab, you can primarily change the color and size of the mouse pointer, for example to a neon yellow for better visibility.

With the update, the Settings app learns all other mouse options in the Control Panel. These include various adjustable mouse icons, for example when loading or enlarging a window. Previously, this only worked in a list within the Control Panel, in which you had to insert alternative designs using a cursor file. In the Settings app, the adjustments are clearer.
The pointer shadow (offset to the right of the pointer) can also be switched on or off. You can also adjust the time in which Windows records two clicks as one continuous double-click.

The mouse track can be configured to different lengths – so that Windows displays additional pointers at the previous positions for mouse movements with a short time offset. For technical reasons, these are always visible, but normally only with a minimal delay.
Microsoft has also added the new settings in the server preview build under the Accessibility tab. Integration into Windows 11 should follow in the coming weeks. In the long term, Microsoft wants to completely scrap the Control Panel.
