The software manufacturer JetBrains has released Fleet 1.47. Still available as a preview, the distributed development environment with support for many common programming languages has been given some new features. These relate to the display of multi-line comment blocks, usability and AI-supported chat.

To improve both code readability and navigation, JetBrains has given its development environment the option to collapse multi-line comments. This option is available for Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Kotlin, C#, C++, Python, Swift and XML.

The development team presents the new function in the JetBrains blog:

To improve usability, a read-only indicator is now visible in the clipboard when developers are working with the editor or the Git diff tool. This should allow them to quickly see when files cannot be modified. Another usability enhancement is a new navigation bar in the Text Search preview window. It shows the full path of each file.

The use of artificial intelligence has also been given new features: with the AI Assistant, web content can now be searched directly from the chat and content can be retrieved from links.

In addition to the new functions, this release also includes bug fixes. These include the fact that deleting files from the Files view under Windows now works as expected when using the IntelliJ IDEA keymap.

Fleet is available for download free of charge from JetBrains during the public preview phase. Further details on version 1.47 can be found in the announcement on the JetBrains blog.
