secIT 2025: patent remedies against cybercrime and 21 kg of espresso beans
The IT security conference trade fair secIT once again attracted thousands of admins and CISOs to Hanover and was a complete success. It will continue in fall.
The speakers at secIT 2025 were available to answer questions over three days. The presentations and workshops selected by c't, heise security and iX in particular were real crowd-pullers. The conference trade fair is growing steadily and celebrated a new record this year with 4,100 visitors.
It will continue in the fall and the digital secIT will take place on September 10 and 11, 2025. The presentations and workshops can be conveniently accessed as a live video stream in a web browser. secIT 2026 in presence is scheduled for March 17 to 19, 2026.
Content instead of advertising
In three exhibition halls, on four stages and in many workshop rooms, the speakers outlined the current threat situation and had countless essential security tips up their sleeves. They conveyed their specialist knowledge in an understandable way, but also went into depth, especially in the all-day workshops.

)These included security in Active Directory, M365 and Entra ID. Common attack patterns were analyzed and countermeasures presented. The focus was also on the cloud security of Amazon AWS, for example, and security concepts such as Zero Trust were critically examined. The speakers also explained the framework conditions for a ransomware-proof backup concept.
In the editorially curated content, the speakers avoided empty advertising slogans and helped admins with practical and directly implementable facts to secure their companies' IT even more effectively.

Lots of coffee and free beer
The coffee trolley was once again particularly popular, serving 2604 coffee specialties over the two days of the trade fair. Among other things, 21 kilograms of espresso beans were sacrificed for this. How many liters of free beer flowed at the legendary secIT party on the Hornet security party trolley was not reported.
